Vinicola Palamà
" I live here. Where my father lived and where my children will live. I live in Salento, I make wine, like my father Arcangelo, who built the first wine cellar.
I put my root in a vineyard in Salento, as if I was Negroamaro, and I don’t even know how many grapevines I planted with my family.
I live when the sun tells me that it is time for Negroamaro and, every time I harvest the ripe bunches, my father and his effort come back to my mind.
When I asked my father Arcangelo why so much work for just a few bunches, he
replied that the fewer grapes there are on the vines, the better the wine will be.
The wine... Once they said that mine is the best wine in the world and they also gave me a medal: that day I realized that Archangel was right. I stay here, in a vineyard in Salento, waiting for the sun...
Ninì is always amazed when he talks about his family, about the tradition that links his life to this corner of Puglia, kissed by the sun and the sea. His words are the story of a passion started with his father, but since a while in the young and strong hands of his son Michele, who is giving the winery of Vinicola Palamà a new face, without betraying its soul.
The sacrifice and the desire for excellence have shaped the work of this company, which has been producing wine since 1936, valorizing native grapes and collaborating with oenologists who supported an exciting project such as the one by Palamà.
The wines are obtained from the Salento grape varieties, grown on espaliers and saplings: Negroamaro, Primitivo, Malvasia Nera, Malvasia Bianca and Verdeca, vinified pure or blended. From the vineyard to the bottle, heart and care at the base of the entire production chain.
